Gold Travel Marketing Award
We have been awarded Gold at this year’s Travel Marketing Awards. Working together with Walker Agency, we won ‘Integrated Campaign of The Year’ for Brittany Ferries, and were one of just four winners on the night to be awarded the highest accolade of Gold Standard.
The 2010 campaign promoted ferry travel to Spain as a viable alternative to flying and positioned Brittany Ferries as the service of choice to start your holiday. It capitalised on the flight disruptions caused by the Icelandic volcano ash cloud and strike action. The campaign success led to the introduction of Brittany Ferries’ new UK Spain service operating between Portsmouth and Bilbao.
The awards, organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, recognise and reward the very best creative work in the travel sector and encourage the highest standards for competitors. Fellow winners included Virgin Holidays, TUI UK and VisitBritain.
The integrated creative from both agencies, including web, search marketing, display advertising, email, social, online PR, press, outdoor, DM, TV, radio and brochure production, has delivered exceptional results over the last 10 years for Brittany Ferries.
Paul Honey, Managing Director at Strange comments, “This is one of the most prestigious categories of the awards and to be listed as a gold winner alongside some of the biggest names in the travel industry is a great honour. We have developed a close working relationship with Walker Agency which has proven a major advantage in delivering such successful and high-performing integrated campaigns for our clients.”
The 2011 campaign has started and aims to build on the success from 2010. For more information about the awards and a full list of winners, visit www.thetravelmarketingawards.com.
