The new Energizer desktop battery charger has been launched today with a microsite by Strange. Initially in English and Italian, the Europe-wide site is at www.usbcharger.eu and will be expanded to 17 languages in the future.
Using Flash graphics, the microsite gives clear, animated instructions on how to use the charger, which plugs into a computer’s USB port. It also has a downloadable widget, which resembles the charger, to show the amount of time remaining to fully recharge the batteries.
In what is a new look for Energizer, the site features the battery and charger colours of black and green. There is also a competition to win a Nikon Coolpix L15 digital camera on the site.
The Energizer USB charger is both PC and Mac compatible and is suitable for AA and AAA rechargeable batteries. It takes up to two hours to recharge batteries and also has a light indicator to show when the batteries are charging or fully charged.
